The Meaning of my Business Name

How is everybody today? The meaning of my business name is actually just a topic that I found online. I’m not even sure what it really means. So today, I will write to you guys what I think it means.           As all of you know from my previous posts, I own my own business. It is a bakery. Baking reflects who I am. I might not eat most desserts, but I always put my own creative touches on what I bake.           The original legal name of my business is “Maison de Madeline,” which is French for “House of Madeline.” Since I happen to live in an apartment above my shop, I literally worked out of my own house. Although, nobody knew how to pronounce it properly, so I shortened the name to “Madeline’s Bakery.”           I might’ve had three businesses, but the bakery is the one that’s here to stay. I have more posts coming up soon, so keep reading and please comment with feedback....

Australia Cake...Got a “Learn how to” Video!!!

Image
So this past weekend, my younger sister brought over her Australian boyfriend and my family had a cookout. Earlier in the month, she had asked me to bake and decorate a surprise Australia cake. I have attached a picture and a tutorial video of it. You might get a chance to learn how to decorate with fondant accessories.           In this video, I explain how to color fondant, make edible paint, and also how to properly shape fondant in what ever you want to make. I only made simple stuff out of fondant so you can learn the basics.           From here on out, every cake that I do, I will post pictures and videos explaining the process of cake decorating. However, I did not film the actual decorating of the cake. It was my first time making these videos, so I kept it simple.           There are only three sections in this video. The first one, I will be showing you how to make ...

New Car Searching is Very Stressful...

You know how I wrote to you guys before about my car accident. How it’s totaled. Today, I finally went out to car dealerships to look around for my next car. It was incredibly stressful and now all I want is a nap. Some car salesmen are total idiots but very few are reasonable. Thanks to one car salesman, I might’ve found my next car.           Sad to say, it will not be another convertible. I went to the Honda dealership, and within five minutes, I was shown a gorgeous 2018 Honda Civic. Sometime this week or next, as soon as I get my insurance check, I will be going back to test drive and then take that car home. When I do, I’ll be sure to post pictures to show you guys. Even though it wont be another convertible, it will at least have a sun roof.           The car salesman at the Volkswagen dealership was nice but come on, he was a complete Obama look-a-like. After I test drove a car I liked, he cha...

Car Accident Continued...

Has anyone read my post about my car accident? Well, I just got news on what's going to happen next.           An insurance guy came to my house this morning to appraise my car and as it turns out, it's totaled. Yikes! My poor car! If you haven't noticed from the previous pictures, its a 2002 BMW convertible. With only 79,000 miles on it. Not bad for it's year. After looking it up, my car is about worth as high as $6,000. I could possibly get that much from the insurance company. Fingers crossed.           If that's the case, that insurance check will make a great down payment for a brand new car. But of course, I'm going to continue driving a convertible for as long as I can. At least I hope so. If I can find one with decent affordable payments.           In the mean time, the insurance company F...

Guilty Pleasures!

I’m sure that many of you guys have guilty pleasures. Some that you don’t mind sharing, and some that you’re too embarrassed for anybody to know. I have a few guilty pleasures myself. Some that embarrass me, and some that I don’t mind telling you about.           To some of you, watching Disney films as an adult might guilt you, but who cares. Be a child at heart. I love Disney films and I don’t care who knows. Every Halloween, I even dress up as a different Disney princess. I can’t help it. Older Disney films makes me happy. Don’t be embarrassed if you enjoy Disney.           The one guilty pleasure that I’m not too proud about is always needing to be right. I’m usually wrong about quite a few things, but not brave enough to admit it. Most of the time, my boyfriend will say that I’m right to make me happy. But it’s really just to avoid an argument. Am I right? Yes! About that at least. Needing to be ...

Car Accidents!

Image
Today, on my way to pick up lunch, I got into a car accident. Before I write any further, clearly I’m ok since I’m here today writing this blog post.           I was just driving down the main road when a high school senior pulled out of a parking lot right into me. I tried to switch lanes to avoid it, but I was trapped. There was a sears van blocking me on my other side.           When I saw his car starting to pull out, I just knew what was about to happen. I took a deep breath, clenched down. Then, BAM! Our cars collided. His front bumper ripped off into two pieces and my front door flew open, almost ripped off and nearly shredded. It won’t even close. Oh how I wish I could’ve avoided that.           So far it looks like my car will be totaled. Although, I’ve already been looking into getting a new car. Just never thought this is how I would get one. Completely unexpected....

Need answers? I'm your girl.

Hey you guys, this blog won't be about anything specific. In fact, its going to be a short one.          Does anyone ever think about making something or doing something but don't know how to pull it off? Do you waste hours researching it? Well, if you look at my profile in my interests, you could see that I have loads of experience with multiple things. But if there was something else that you need answers for, I will research the topic for you.           All you have to do is that if you have questions about anything, please comment on this post or any post you want and I will write your answer in one of my next blogs. Possibly with pictures and/or videos...You can also comment to suggest certain topics that you want me to write about. Anything really.           That's all that I have to write about t...

My Earliest Childhood Memory!

Image
For those who don't know me, I was a girl scout as a child. I don't remember selling girl scout cookies but I sure do remember attending girl scout horse camp. The day that I arrived to the day that I left. It was so much fun. Each cabin had at least six girls in them.           Behind my cabin was a long dirt trail. The first stop on that trail was the pool. It was huge. On the other side of the pool, the dirt trail continued. As the trail continued, it led us straight to the stables. That's where we learned to ride horses. The horse that I was assigned to happened to be the smallest one in the herd. He was so sweet. His coloring was white with black specks. I've enjoyed riding horses ever since.           Across from my cabin was the main cabin where we would have meetings and snacks. That was also the very first time that I had d...
